- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup warm milk
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground cardamom
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- ¼ tsp ground cloves
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Slowly mix in the warm milk and egg until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth. Let it rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
Roll out the dough into a thin rectangle and brush with melted butter. Mix the chai spices together and sprinkle evenly over the dough.
Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut it into 6 equal pieces.
Twist each piece and place them into greased muffin tins. Let them rise again for 30 minutes.
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
