Kenyan Blogger Abducted and Assaulted After Criticizing Mombasa Governor

A Kenyan blogger named Bruce from Mombasa was recently abducted and reportedly sodomized by a group of unknown men. This disturbing incident occurred shortly after Bruce published several online critiques of the Mombasa governor, raising concerns about the increasing threats faced by individuals who challenge authority.

According to local reports, Bruce, known for his outspoken views and activism, was targeted for his criticisms of the county government, particularly his posts about governance, corruption, and the state of public services in Mombasa. He had been vocal about the mismanagement of resources and what he described as a lack of accountability by the governor and his administration.

On the day of his abduction, Bruce was reportedly approached by the men, who forcibly took him from his home. He was then driven to an undisclosed location, where the assault took place. Bruce was later abandoned in a secluded area and left traumatized by the ordeal. He was rescued by passersby and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he received medical treatment and is now recovering.

The incident has sparked outrage across Kenya, with many calling for a thorough investigation into the attack. Human rights organizations and fellow bloggers have condemned the violence, describing it as an attack on free speech and press freedom. They have urged the government to ensure the safety of journalists, bloggers, and activists who express dissenting views.

Authorities have yet to make any arrests, and investigations are ongoing. Bruce’s ordeal serves as a chilling reminder of the risks faced by those who dare to speak out against powerful figures in Kenya.
