ACTRESS & MODEL KITUVA MAUREEN IS DETERMINED TO LEAVE A MARK IN THE FASHION & FILM INDUSTRY

The gradual recovery of the fashion and film industry inspires hope among many new entrants in the industry and Kituva Maureen is also optimistic about the opportunities that lie ahead.

We had the brief opportunity for an interview with the talented actress and Model;

1.Who is Kituva Maureen and how do you best describe yourself?

1.Kituva Maureen is  21years old, so passionate in modelling...

Currently in machakos for studies.

2. When did you realize your interest for modeling?

2.I realized my interest back in high school...I could find myself taking part in modelling events and feel so comfortable in there..

I moved the crowd back then and that's where I drew the courage to be a model.

3. How long have you been modeling professionally?

3.It has not been long.. it's almost a year now.

4. Who are some icons that inspire you?

4.The former miss universe Zonzibini Tunzi.

She inspires me the most

Her look is so natural and behold her beauty she got a heart and brains too.

5. What challenges and opportunities have you encountered?

5.The challenges are there and are so many.

Starting from back home to the agencies.

Most of the people in our community today consider modelling as prostitution which is not.

When I look back in the days of our grandparents the history says that they  used to wear clothes just to hide their sensitive parts and that's how they felt comfortable.

"Were all of them prostitutes?"... people need to get back to their dictionaries and senses just to understand what the word prostitute means.

This negative energy has affected our parents and  church leaders with the community in common.

We are judging each other with dress code yet we don't want to see the other side of it.. I've seen models dress and feed the street children out there.

I have seen models touch and change peoples life.

Also in the agents when maybe you want to take part in a certain event and you want to be crowned a queen there's a certain amount you have to pay as fee, the expenses are there because some demands are so high.

The opportunity which have seen already is gaining peoples support and trust after the crown.

Now this gives you the advantage to work on the reasons why you had to fight for it.... like donating to the children homes and feeding the streets and people are so supportive.

6. Which brands would you like to work with in future?

6.Well, I won't specify a brand for now,, but working with competent people is all I wish for.

7. How would you describe the current state of the Kenyan fashion industry?

7.I could say it is equitable.. not so good because we still have scammers who are taking advantage of people out there and good because they're trying and despite the challenges they are still moving on and working really hard.

8. Which events have you participated in before?

8.Have participated in some already like miss Eleli election and little Miss Earth Kenya

9. What are your other interests apart from modeling?

9.Heheh, I am a actress and the other one I won't mention yet since I'm still working on it.

10. How can you be reached on social media?

10.My handles on social media are kituva maureen every where on FB and IG
