Every 19th day of June the world turns around to give a pseudo-appreciation to fathers marking the place, the role, contribution, efforts and sacrifice of dads around the world. It is imperative however, to note that hardly are dads appreciated on a day to day perhaps because it is subconsciously an underlying though that appreciating dads is akin to "praising a fish for swimming' which is what it ought to do at all times anyway.
With all the responsibilities of providing, professing and protecting the families, it is perhaps not to much to ask that we make this thing of appreciating fathers a whole lot more regularly and appreciate all dads irregardless of their financial muscle and capabilities not just on a single day in June.
It is also critical to note that with the new societal changes and the culture of the LGBT the place and role of men and fathers is also under threat as the boundaries and borders are not becoming more and more blurred! But before we get our African societies in all the mess and confusion, lets celebrate our African fathers, the best way we can!
