ON THIS WORLD MUSIC DAY, WE CELEBRATE QUEEN MARIE J - THE EAST AFRICAN RECORDING AND PERFORMING ARTIST.

Queen Marie J, born Marie Njoroge is a Kenyan female songwriter, musician, recording and performing artist with a flair for Afro-fusion music. The Kenyan songstress has consistently worked on creating uniquely blend music incorporating her life experiences as well as love tales spelt in rhythm and quintessence. She points to Angelique Kidjo of Benin & Yvone Chaka chaka of South Africa as being some of her influences. Her outstanding performances have been hailed by fellow artists and audiences as her stage presence and choreography invigorates her growing fanbase across East Africa.

Her passion for music started at a tender age as she interacted with music as a child with curiosity into different styles of the often Swahili songs she enjoyed with her family in Kenya and later moving to Italy at the Age of 11 where she also attended school in Bocconi, Rome. Marie graduated from the Sapienza University with an Accounting & finance major.

She has impacted the lives of many young orphans and aspires to establish a children’s home to cater for the disenfranchised and needy in the communities.

Queen Marie J has been consistent in her music career, recently releasing her 3rd hit single titled “Chorea” Swahili slang meaning be easy in March, 2018 accompanied by the impressive visuals shot in Kenya and directed by Rahim. Her latest and most recent project is a song HIGH UP released in August 2020,  a song addressed to the nay sayers in the society in general who cast doubt on young talent and she delivers on a hiphop genre with the production release that was well released which is a relatable theme for most of her audiences regardless of the age or background.  Queen Marie J is also  released a new project on Sunday June 2021, a love song titled YOU ARE MINE.
