1-How would you like to introduce yourself to our readers?
1.Hi I'm Jedidah Macharia, a model based in Nairobi. I specialise in runway Modelling, commercial and fashion Modeling.
2-What inspired you to pursue a career in fashion modeling, and how did your journey begin?
2.I was inspired by my passion and enthusiasm in the fashion industry and my admiration to models on the runway in the social media.I took a bold step in searching for a Modelling school and found one through a friend.
3-As a Kenyan model, how do you incorporate your culture into your fashion and style?
3.By avoiding appropriation and not mocking other tribal cultures.
4-What challenges have you faced in the modeling industry, and how have you overcome them?
4.I have faced challenges such as anxiety, intense competition, inconsistent income but through maintaining a positive attitude resilience and adaptability i have always managed to step up and that has helped me overcome them.
5-Can you describe a memorable experience or highlight from your modeling career so far?
5.As a model, a chance to wear unique designs and showcasing my ability to transform into different characters, the diverse range of setting and location for shoots provides me with the opportunity to explore new environments and bring my creativity to life.
6-How do you prepare for a photoshoot or runway show? Any tips or routines?
6.I normally practice for poses and walking, familiarise myself with the venue, designers and the photographer, way before the ideal day.
7-What role do you believe fashion modeling plays in shaping societal perceptions of beauty and style?
7.I believe fashion Modelling creates employment opportunities to young people boosting self confidence to models and brings out cultural exchange to the society.
8-Who are your biggest inspirations or role models in the fashion industry, locally or globally?
8.Globally I love Gigi Hadid for her ability to balance personal life with social and modeling demands and locally am inspired by my passion and dreams in the modeling industry.
9-How do you balance your personal life with the demands of a modeling career?
9.I have a personal schedule for my Modelling career so it becomes easy to fix other activities wherever there is a chance.
10-What advice would you give to aspiring models looking to enter the industry in Kenya?
10.I would advise them to have confidence, to be strong enough to put up with rejection, have realistic expectations and apply to a modeling agency as well as being ware of scammers.
11-Are there any causes or initiatives you are passionate about and use your platform to support?
11.I adore the work done by makeup artists, photographers, hair dressers and designers on models and anytime I get inlove with their work I definitely recommend them to other models and friends.
12-What are your future aspirations in fashion modeling, and how do you envision your legacy?
12.-Through my experience being able to guide the upcoming models in the industry and nurturing next generation
